As per our discussions in the SVSRL conference room over the off season, the following rule clarifications will be implemented for our 2008 SVSRL racing season.

Note:
The rule amendments and changes have been created to clear up a few gray areas in the current rule book that we adhere to.
The SVSRL reserves the right to change, admen or correct any or all rule guidelines as deemed necessary.
- We will use the one, (1) drop race points system like we did last year.
- Rear spoilers shall not have the ability to be adjustable from inside the driver's compartment.
The height measurement of the spoiler shall be be taking at a parallel reference to the top of the trunk lid to the top of the spoiler, (the protractor method as it has been referred to).
Spoiler shall be a minimum of 2 inches and a maximum of 4 inches tall measured at a level and horizontal plane.
Spoiler height may follow and be measured at the contour of the trunk lid as long as it meets the minimum and maximum heights. (older model bodies and will be at the discretion of the SVSRL officials)
Spoilers shall meet a minimum width of 35 inches and a maximum of 36 inches and shall be centered and mounted on rear area of the trunk lid.
Spoiler shall be run between 39 and 50 degree to a level and horizontal plane.
Spoiler shall be constructed of a thick enough material as to keep it from flexing while at speed.
Spoiler level shall be measured with driver in the car and as raced.
Chassis Specifications:
Engine must remain located in the center of the cradle.
No offset cradles will be allowed, Suspended or Ridged cars.
In addition, it may be necessary to remove the wording in our rule book that stats that Ridged cars are allowed to run an off- set chassis?
- Rule 5.2 Air Filter Amendment:
Air filters will be allowed a maximum of 50 deg. angle.
A minimum of 2" clearance will be required for any air supply to the air filter.
There will be only one, (1) filter adapter / velocity stack between carburetor and air filter.
IE. Air filter must be fastened directly to an approved velocity stack /air filter adapter.
One, "1" cooling hose from the outside of the vehicle,
(preferable attached to a stock car style NACA duct) to the interior of engine compartment is permitted. The pickup point of the hose should not exceed much past the outside body lines of the car. The hose, or an extension thereof, must not extend more than 2 inches past the inside edge of the firewall or engine covering / compartment. The diameter can be no larger than 3 inches. The rear window may not be altered or drilled other then the standard pop rivet / screw mounting holes for lexan.
The air filter or any part there of cannot act as a ram air device.
No suspension control systems will be allowed.
No other shock / spring set up will be allowed other then our traditional one shock / one spring system that is listed in the SVSRL rule book.
- The front brake rule has been tabled, (postponed) until next season for further review.
